Tree Trimming & Shrub Care for Bay Area Yards

Shape, health, and safe clearances — pruning that respects how the tree grows.

Good pruning works with a tree’s structure, not against it. We trim and prune trees and shrubs for health, shape, light, and clearance — thinning canopies, lifting limbs off roofs and driveways, and keeping hedges crisp — with an eye to the tree ordinances that protect heritage and native trees in many Peninsula cities.

Tree Trimming & Shrub Care — common questions

Do I need a permit to trim my tree?

Trimming usually doesn’t, but many Peninsula cities protect heritage and native trees, and heavy pruning or removal can require review. We know the local rules and keep you on the right side of them.

When is the best time to prune?

It varies by species — many trees prune best while dormant in winter, while others prefer late summer. We time cuts to the specific tree.
